In the winter of 1974, a group of archaeologists from the Institute of Vertebrate and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Zhejiang Museum discovered a cultural relic in the upper reaches of the Xin’an River. A cave named Liguidong in Jiande Lijia Town was found in the cave. An ancient human tooth fossil.

This ancient tooth fossil is a right upper canine. The crown is 11.6 mm high, with a median diameter of 8.5 mm and a lip diameter of 9.5 mm. Scientifically identified, this human tooth fossil is a type of sapiens like the Liujiang people who renewed the stage after the late century. It is about 50,000 years ago. According to archaeological practices, named after the land, this human tooth fossil was named “Jiande people.”
